Car history: |
This is a 69 427/400 Matching Number Tripower Convertible. Every part is new or rebuilt. I have owned this car for 2 years, but have not driven it much at all. Exterior: Last year for black in the C3 era until it again became a factory color in 1977. Paint trim tag code = 900. Color name = Tuxedo Black. Paint is in very good condition as you can see. The body panels are very straight and gaps are very uniform and tight...no sloppy gaps. Car was painted about 5 years ago. There is a 1/8 inch chip in the hood that has been touched up and 2 pinhead size chips touched up on the left fender. All of the exterior chrome is redone or new. Bumpers, side louvers, bezels, handles, antenna, hood trim, & front grill trim are new/redone. The top is a new kit from Al Knoch. This is not an original sidepipe car, but the sidepipes are original insulators with replated chrome on them. Hub caps are original P02 wheel covers that are in great condition. Frame/Chassis: The frame is in very good condition. The body was taken off and the frame was disassembled, sandblasted, repaired, repainted, and reassembled. There is no rust. The trailing arms are new. The emergency brake system is new...from the handle to the rear wheels. The brake lines, blocks, hoses, and calipers are new stainless Lonestar. The master cylinder is a correct DC. New bushing all the way around. Power steering system is new and rebuilt components from Lonestar Caliper. Tires are new BFG redline radials from Coker classic. Exhaust system is new from Allens exhaust. Interior: The interior is red with leather seats. Trim tag code = 408. Leather seats, door panels, & carpet are Al Knoch. The door panels have new trim. All knobs, handles, and switches in the interior are redone/new. Seat belts are redone. All gauges work, including the clock. Original radio works good, but is hard to hear over the side exhaust. Wipers and headlights work fine. The wiper washer system is not hooked up...I would never put fluid in it and spray it on the car anyway. You probably wouldn't either. Tilt/tele column works fine. Engine: Block cast number = 3935439. Engine build date code = T0926LQ LQ="L36 engine with Holley 3x2BC & 4 speed". Cast date is approximately 30 days prior to the engine build date, but I cant remember what it is and did not crawl under the car to get it. The heads are also correct "063" heads and have the same date grouping consistent with the block. A set of new list number correct Holleys sit atop the correct intake manifold. An appearance correct Dewitts 27 inch aluminum radiator to keep things running cool under the hood, and it definitely makes a difference! All the goodies are resurfaced, replated, or new as you can see from the photos. 92,710 miles from the odometer. Colors from the trim plate. Built date is C25. Motor suffix code is T0926LQ. January 20, 2009. |
